Transcript for April 3rd

Welcome to April 3rd, 2020, on the National Day Calendar.  Today we celebrate desserts of the rich and famous and the sounds that set the stage.   More after the break…

Mousse Oh Sha-cola!  We’re talking French, baby: smooth.  It’s no wonder this creamy sensation has rocked our sweet-tooth since the 18th century, when “Marie Antoinette hairdos” and men in puffy shirts were a la mode.  What’s amazing is how long chocolate mousse has tickled our fancy, but then again – it’s chocolate! In bittersweet, milk or white – this dessert is a perennial favorite.  On National Chocolate Mousse Day savor the Parisian flavor of decadence that never goes out of style.

It’s no surprise that the main event in any movie is it’s visual effects, (though our producer, John, is likely to argue that ‘sound’ is equally important.) The part of film we tend to overlook is the music score, which builds tension and sets the mood. Imagine for a moment the movie Jaws. You see the ripple in the darkened water, the swimmer struggles against her mounting fear and all the while you hear [sound of tide, distant bell, gull]. Not quite the same, is it? On National Film Score Day celebrate those iconic notes that play a starring role and enjoy your own classic film score today.
