Transcript for April 4th

Welcome to April 4th, 2020, on the National Day Calendar.  Today we celebrate the wizards of words and the Call of the Wild that must be heard! More after the break from our founder, Marlo Anderson.

When Buffy the Vampire Slayer needed advice on battling the forces of evil she went to see Giles, her mentor and school librarian. It’s safe to say that most school librarians do not dispense tips on fighting monsters, but they do teach kids how to use library resources for study and research. These folks are literal guides that open the world to their students and instill a love of life-long learning.  On National School Librarian Day, get the scoop on your favorite subject from the gatekeepers of knowledge.

Few vehicles have carved a place in American history quite like the Jeep 4×4.  Because it could handle practically all terrains, this vehicle quickly replaced the horse, and gave the Allies the mobility to turn the tide of WWII.  Jeep’s ability to “go anywhere and do anything” personified our American “can-do” spirit and became second only to their rifle in order of importance to our troops.    On Jeep 4×4 Day celebrate American ingenuity by carving out your own adventure.
