February 29, 2020 – National Time Refund Day | National Rare Disease Day USA

Transcript for February 29th

Welcome to February 29th, 2020 on the National Day Calendar.  Today we celebrate and a time machine birthday and the race against time for the rare few.  More after the break from our founder, Marlo Anderson.

If you were born on this day, congratulations for looking so young!  It appears you have found the fountain of youth or the secret to aging as fast as the Olympic Games. And spoiler alert for those who are still mystified: the phenomenon known as a Leap Year includes the extra day of February 29th only once every four years.  Also known as an intercalary year, the extra day keeps us in line with the seasons. Celebrate National Time Refund Day with a shrug or a smug smile if today is your birthday.

National Rare Disease Day USA brings awareness to the unsung heroes who research and look for cures for diseases that affect only a relative few of us from 2,000 to 200,000 depending on where you live.  Celebrities affected by these ailments are now coming forward in hopes of lending a voice to this cause, and to offer hope to those who feel alone in their affliction. These include George Clooney, Kristin Chenoweth, Jimmy Kimmel and Sia.
