Transcript for March 22nd

Welcome to March 22nd, 2020 on the National Day Calendar.  Today we celebrate “getting to the good stuff” and letting down our hair.  Let’s join Anna Devere after the break.

If you’ve ever wondered about the difference between a French and a Bavarian crepe, here’s the deal – it starts with the batter.  The French recipe allows it to sit awhile so the gluten in the flour has a chance to “relax.” They probably pour a glass of wine and chill while this happens and if you’re into stretching out the process, by all means – go French.  This makes a lighter and more tender crepe. If you want a bit more sturdy pancake or palatschinke, get on with it already! After all, if you’re adding Bararian cream to the plate, why wait?! On National Bavarian Crepes Day celebrate getting to the good stuff by having dessert for breakfast.

National Goof Off Day is made for the kid in all of us.  No matter how you celebrate, it’s all about avoiding work.  While this may be hard for the workaholics among us, a bit of room to stretch your legs and breathe awhile can actually lead to being more productive.  If you need some inspiration pull out Ferris Buehler’s Day Off or Bill and Ted’s Excellent Adventure.  Have popcorn for every meal.  And however you celebrate: avoid work at all costs!
