Some folks celebrate with confetti, others balloons, and if making a mess is your idea of a good time, then dive right in to National Cheese Doodle Day. Little did Morrie Yohai know when he invented the cheese flavored, crispy puffed snack back in the 1950’s that future remote controls would be forever fingerprinted in tell tale orange.  We know you love them so go ahead and celebrate National Cheese Doodle Day. There’s plenty of time to clean up tomorrow.

If your knowledge of “absinthe” is limited to the movie Moulin Rouge, with Ewan McGregor hallucinating green fairies, then buckle up for the straight talk about a potent potable that packs a punch. This bitter, anise-flavored, drink was a favorite of 19th Century artists, who claimed that its magic inspired their creative muse. Others saw demons and vilified the drink. At over 150 proof, this “little green sprite” is no light weight, but doesn’t actually cause hallucinations. On National Absinthe Day take a walk on the wildside, just don’t expect Kylie Minogue to make a singing pixie appearance.
