National Cereal Day | National Be Heard Day

Transcript for March 7th

Welcome to March 7th, 2020 on the National Day Calendar.  Today we celebrate things small but mighty and the most important part of a complete breakfast.  Let’s join Anna Devere after the break.

Big business and corporations get all the spotlight, but it’s really small businesses that are the unsung heroes of the US economy. Small businesses account for 99% of all the companies in America, many of which have 20 employees or fewer. If you are one of the 30 million small business owners in the US, today is the day to stand up, make yourself known, and “be heard.” On National Be Heard Day, tell the world about yourself with creative marketing or online marketing, and developing a social media presence. And if you’re a consumer, get out there and support these small firms. It’s what keeps our economy rolling.

As kids, trips to the grocery shopping were…So. Boring. Walking alongside the shopping cart like prisoners, dragging our feet…until we came to the one particular aisle that made every kid’s eyes light up. It was a wonderland—Brightly colored boxes of yummy breakfast cereal as far as the eye could see! Cereal that snap, crackled, and popped. Cereal that turned the milk a different flavor. Today is National Cereal Day, so why not pour yourself a bowl of happiness to kick off the morning and take a stroll down memory lane?
