Transcript for February 21st

Welcome to February 21st on the National Day Calendar.  Today we celebrate the angels and devils who make life sweet.  More after the break from our founder, Marlo Anderson.

It’s one thing to show that you care for someone, but those who truly “walk the walk” are celebrated today on National Caregivers Day.  Those dedicated health care professionals and volunteers go more than the extra mile with their service, providing compassion in a field that demands long hours to support those who need it most.  Show your support on National Caregivers Day, whether you walk a mile in their shoes or merely lighten their load with a smile.

From the German word “Schnecken” meaning “snail,” this sweet, gooey spiral of dough is better known today as the sticky bun.  Not to be confused with its close cousin the cinnamon roll or its cousin once removed – monkey bread, this Pennsylvanian specialty is made in a pan lined with sugar, nuts or syrup that gets flipped upside down to reveal its glorious meltdown.  Like the devil may care-cousin you adored for dragging you through a delirious mess, celebrate National Sticky Bun Day by daring to leave the napkins behind.
